日本に居て合衆国を生々しく感じた最近の出来事といえば、大谷翔平選手が自チームのベンチでひまわりの種らしきものをもぐもぐと噛みながら、その殻を片手に持った紙コップへ吐き出している光景をテレビで見かけたことくらいしか記憶がない。ハリー・ベラフォンテがお亡くなりになられたことを聞いても、なにかが生々しく浮かび上がってくることがないのは情けない感じがする。
それで、彼と日本が関係する曲を聴いてみた。
