YouTube にプレストン・スタージェスの『結婚五年目』(The Palm Beach Story, 1942) をデジタル修復したものがあったので、ちょっとだけ見てみようと思ったら、二回続けて見てしまった。
ルディ・ヴァリー (Rudy Vallée) が演じる大富豪がなぜかフロリダ行き夜行列車の普通寝台の下に寝ていて、その上段の寝台へよじ登ろうとするクローデット・コルベール (ぶかぶかのパジャマを着ている) によって顔を踏まれ眼鏡を二度砕かれてしまう場面はいつ見ても何回見ても可笑しいのだが、最近、ルディ・ヴァリーは “As Time Goes By” を最初に (1931 年) レコーディングした歌手であることを知った。
