When You Wish Upon a Star

ディズニー映画『ピノキオ』(1940) で Ukulele Ike こと、Cliff Edwards が歌った。よく使われる “out of the blue” という表現は歌詞にある “like a bolt out of the blue” が約まったもの。「青天の霹靂」の「霹靂」は落雷のことだから洋の東西で発想がまったく同じである。なお、bolt の発音は /bóʊlt/ であることが、リスニングで確認できる。
