マイケル・マン監督の映画『パブリック・エネミーズ』(2009) は、この監督の作品としては良い出来だとは思わないものの、 “Bye Bye, Blackbird” という曲がこの作品の中で重要な役割をしていたのは周知の通りである。そして、この曲もまた『彼奴は顔役だ！』(1939) で使用されている。まとめてみると、50 年代になって再び急に取り上げられるようになったことが分かる。
